The following terms and conditions must be followed while a foster animal(s) of Hero's Haven is in your care. Some apply only to dogs while others apply only to cats. The foster animal(s) will be given proper food, water, exercise, and medical care as deemed appropriate by representatives of Hero's Haven. I will not strike, choke or harm the animal(s) in any way. Additionally, I will not use any type of metal/pronged collar on the foster animal(s). The foster dog(s) will reside inside my home and will not be left in an outdoor kennel or tied outside for an extended period of time, and will never be left outside unattended. The foster dog(s) will never be allowed outside my home unless they are safely secured on a leash or in a fenced area. The foster cat(s) will be kept strictly indoors and transported outside of the home when needed in a sturdy carrier. The foster dog(s) will be given a proper individual introduction to each of my animals in a neutral area (such as a yard, driveway, etc.) I will not allow any children in my home to hit, kick, pull hair/ears/tail, etc. of the foster animal(s). I will only give the animal(s) medications as prescribed by a vet and approved by a representative of Hero's Haven. If the foster animal(s) is ever lost or stolen, I will immediately contact Hero's Haven and make a conscious effort to recover the animal(s). If I ever become unable to care for the foster animal(s) or if they are not a good fit in my home environment, I will immediately contact Hero's Haven and arrangements will be made to remove the animal from my home. If the foster animal(s) ever sustains any type of injury while in my care, I will immediately contact Hero's Haven. I will not alter the foster animal's appearance (docking, cropping, etc.) in any way. If I decide I would like to adopt my foster animal(s), I understand that I will have to go through the same application process as the general public and will have to pay the full adoption fee. I understand that the foster animal(s) I will care for are the property of Hero's Haven and must be returned immediately upon request. I will only transport my foster animal(s) inside the cab of a vehicle and will not leave the animal(s) in a vehicle unattended. Cats must be kept in a sturdy carrier during transport. I will only let people and animals approach the foster animal(s) slowly and with proper introduction. I will alert Hero's Haven if I intend on fostering for another organization while I am fostering a Hero's Haven animal. I understand that, because certain foster animals may need more specific requirements, additional terms may be added to this list at any time as deemed appropriate by a Hero's Haven representative. RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT By signing this form, I certify that I have agreed to foster by my own volition and, therefore, assume all liability and responsibility for incidents that may occur while fostering. I am aware that working with animals can be dangerous and serious injury or death could occur, and expressly release Hero's Haven and all officials and representatives from any liability should such an incident occur during my time as a foster or volunteer.
