Chevy has been waiting months to get one single adoption application. Still nothing. :(
This pretty lady is an approximately 8 year old treeing walker coonhound who weighs around 70 lbs. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and heartworm negative. This sweet girl's owner passed away last Fall and she found herself in a kill shelter with a euthanasia deadline. We couldn't let her die and thankfully one of our foster families opened their hearts and home to her.
Chevy's most perfect forever home would be one that doesn't have other pets. She's currently living with another dog but we can tell she wants to be the center of attention as she's had some jealousy issues with her foster sister. We were told she's lived with cats in the past but she's a little too interested in the cat in her current foster home. She's great with all people, including children, though older kids would probably be best because she doesn't always know her size.
Here are the highlights about Miss Chevy:
- She is house trained and kennels very well although she does fine left out too.
- She LOVES butt scratches so much she'll back up to you and demand them.
- She enjoys car rides a lot and will jump right in the car for her next adventure.
- She likes playing outside. No fenced yard necessary as she does well on a long tie out too.
- She can be a big couch potato too. She'd love a home where she is allowed on the couch/bed.
- She's a very good girl but not always a lady. She could work on her manners a bit when it comes to putting paws on the table or counter when she wants your attention and pulling on a leash when she's got places to be.
- She might be estimated to be around 8 years old but she's got a lot of youth left in her.
