Chidi found himself in an overcapacity Missouri animal shelter when he and his pals were rescued from a hoarding house in December. The shelter hadn’t euthanized for space in years but with a sudden influx of too many dogs they were going to have to make a list of the worst kind. Thankfully, three Iowa rescues - us, Adopt A Pal, and It Takes a Village - worked together and because of several fosters stepping up were able to pull eleven dogs to safety just before Christmas!
Chidi is about 6 years old and kind of hot mess but we are working on getting him all fixed up! He has pyoderma (skin infection), a UTI or possible prostatitis, and severe dental issues. He had been used for breeding and needs neutered. His teeth appear to be worn down from chewing, a likely stress reaction or possibly efforts to get loose from extended confinement. All of these things will be addressed and treated prior to adoption.
Despite all he’s endured, he’s the sweetest and most loving dog. He is good with other dogs, cats and kids.
