We are looking for a foster or forever home for this sweet guy. His name is Watson and he is and 11 month old Bassett hound/Jack Russell terrier mix.

Watson's current owner loves him a lot but doesn't feel like she can provide him with the environment and exercise he needs. She thinks he'd do best with a fenced yard and/or an active family that can take him on walks or along on adventures.

He is good with other dogs and loves playing with his neighbor, a golden retriever. It is not known how he is with cats. The current owner reports he is great with children.

Watson has had a few accidents but is mostly house-trained and will get all of the way there with someone who can take him out more frequently. He does not do well in a crate and can have some separation anxiety.

He is neutered and UTD on core vaccines as well as microchipped.

FOSTER/ADOPTION PROCESS: Anyone wanting to foster or adopt for Hero’s Haven must complete the appropriate application on our website, heroshavenanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org. You must complete the application in its entirety to be considered. To be approved, you must successfully pass all portions of the application process:
1) Vet Reference: All current animals must be up-to-date on vaccines and spayed/neutered, unless there is a legitimate medical reason for not meeting these requirements.
2) Personal References: Three personal references over the age of 21 (and only one family member) must provide positive feedback.
3) Home Check: Your home environment must prove to be a safe and healthy environment for the animal.
4) Background Check: Anyone with criminal charges relating to animal abuse/neglect/torture are automatically denied, NO EXCEPTIONS.
If any information is falsified on your application, it will also result in automatic denial. This process is put in place to ensure the animals in our care go to only the very best homes. Many have not had good lives to begin with and it’s our duty to them to make sure they leave our care for loving, dedicated, safe homes.
