Sweet Autumn was found last fall as a stray. She has been in one of our foster homes for 6+ months and, after months of pain and infection in her left ear, she was finally able to have her ear polyp removal surgery thanks to Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids.

Unfortunately her polyp was too far in her ear canal for the more simple "traction" method (where the polyp is basically pulled out of the ear) and she had to have a bulla osteotomy which means they had to cut her open and go in through her neck to access the middle ear, remove the polyp and surrounding problematic tissues/bones. It's a tough and painful surgery for a cat to endure.

After some scary post-surgical complications (reintubation due to inability to breath and then aspiration pneumonia on top of that), she is on the mend and doing well. Polyps are unlikely to recur with this method of removal so she should not have to endure any of this again.

Autumn is finally looking for her forever home! Her age is estimated to be between 3-5 years old and she is just a doll. She is very affectionate but in the rub against you and purr sort of way; she's not a lap cat. Her favorite things include being brushed and playing with a laser pointer. She also loves to sit on her window perch and watch the birds.

If you are interested in giving Autumn the amazing forever home she deserves, submit our adoption application: https://heroshavenanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/

Adoption fee $85. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Special Needs: Had a bulla osteotomy to remove ear polyp in left ear - experienced post-surgical breathing complications - any adopter needs to be aware of this for if she has future surgeries - not certain if it was due to anesthesia or the procedure
